A woman born in the Dominican Republic has made a name for herself in Orlando banking and is now helping local foster children have a better life. Consumer Banking Manager for Regions bank in Orlando, Viviana Frias understands what it’s like to be left alone when you’re a baby. Her mother left her on her father’s doorstep with a note when she was just an infant.
Today, Frias is an event coordinator, fund raiser and mentor for Community Based Care of Central Florida (CBCCF). The nonprofit helps children enter foster care, find adoptive families and provides transitional services. The annual luggage drive that Firas has organized provides children with somewhere to store their belongings as they move from family to family. Her toy and clothing drives serve children during the holidays. Her financial classes help teens who may be aging out of the system.
Because of her commitment to local foster children, Frias recently received the Regions Bank Better Life Award, a top honor in the bank’s organization. Regions will be donating $1,000 to CBCCF on behalf of Frias. Expecting her own child in October, Frias and her husband plan on welcoming a second child into their home through adoption.
