Florida Authorities Searching for Child

Authorities with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office are looking for a man from Weston and his 11-year-old son. The boy was supposed to be turned over to his mother close to two months ago.

According to reports, the mother and father have shared custody of the child. The boy spend the summer with his father in Weston. The father was supposed to drop the child off at the airport where the mother was waiting to fly back to California with the boy. The father never showed up. The mother texted him and called both the father’s and child’s cell phones and received no response.

The woman has not had contact with her son for two months. She told police that the father has run off with his son in the past but always returned. The latest incident took place in April when the mother had to go to court to retrieve her son. Neighbors of the man said that they have not seen him since Hurricane Irma hit, but that shutters boarding his apartment windows have been taken down.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office are looking for more information on the whereabouts of the father and son. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
